If You Feel the Funk (1980):
Description: The music video for 'If You Feel the Funk' is simply a performance video from a European TV show. 'If You Feel the Funk' was the debut single from La Toya Jackson. It was released in 1980 on Polydor Records, and comes from Jackson's self-titled debut album La Toya Jackson (1980). It received limited airplay and many audiences believed the disco vibe in the song was outdated. The single narrowly missed the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, peaking at number 103. However, it peaked at number seventeen on Billboard's Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart and number forty on the Billboard R&B chart. It reached number forty-two in Germany and number eighteen in the Netherlands.

Heartbreaking video of La Toya. |

This is some footage of La Toya on a Spanish TV show around 1991/1992. Someone added creepy music to the clip, just fyi. Anyway, the interviewer, Jesus Hermida, is talking with her about going home in general. During this time, La Toya was still under the control of her abusive husband. Talking about going home, somewhere she so longed to be at the time, must've really struck a chord with her. You just see her blank expression change to sorrow and then horribly transition into fear so clearly. It's sobering, really.

After 7 years following its original recording, the song 'Home' will be released as a single. It takes on a new poignant mood in the wake of Michael's passing. :/
The music video for 'Home' - La Toya's first in 20 years - will be available for purchase exclusively on iTunes beginning September 1.
Meanwhile, don't forget to buy your copy of the song on iTunes. All proceeds go to one of Michael's favorite charities, AIDS Project Los Angeles. Click here to buy it on US iTunes.

La Toya Jackson Live in Slovenia! |
[29 Apr 2007|09:34am] |
Here's some rare and truly legendary footage that a fan captured of Toy performing in a little village called Velike Zablje back in 1995. Apparently she stayed in the bar's restroom for at least an hour before coming out to perform the concert. She opens with a cover of MJ's 'Wanna Be Startin' Something,' and then goes on to sing a cover of Whitney Houston's 'I Wanna Dance With Somebody,' and Little Eva's 'Locomotion.' But the true highlight is when she does a titillating performance of 'Sexual Feeling!' Her boots are killer!
